polaroids

Phillipe Roucou's line of polaroid silk scarves are brilliant. Unfolded they are images, tied around the neck they are abstract color blocks. Loving it.

up and coming?

Today I read in the Oregonian that Saks Fifth Avenue next to Pioneer Square Mall will be closing soon and looking to take its place is...wait for it...H&M!!! I've been hearing rumors of an H&M opening in downtown Portland and I couldn't agree enough that it would be awesome for us forever21 slaves to have some other choices out there. Although a little up the price scale, H&M makes great party dresses and accessories that can be affordable if you know what to look for. Also looking to set up shop is Spanish clothing retailer Zara. I think this could be the trifecta of cute clothing shops in Downtown. Now if only Sephora would open up a store-I still can't believe they don't have one here! They'd make a killing...just sayin!

wrapped and chained

If I ever wanted a watch (they annoy me too much!), it would definitely have some character, like this leather and chain watch at Shop Cuffs

twisted wonderland

Forever21 has just unveiled their new Alice in Wonderland themed collection for their limited-edition Twist line. Wonderland fever is everywhere right now thanks to the mediocre remake by Tim Burton.

The line takes inspiration from the dark, sinister qualities of the Tim Burton version (and perhaps the story itself-pretty creepy if you ask me!). Separately, the pieces are feminine, flirty with lace trims and appliques of keys and lockets, but instead of sickly sweet colors they are delivered to us in dark, off-key colors which I like.

Head over to Forever21.com to check out the entire line. If you like the pieces, you should hurry to your nearest XXI because the Twist pieces go really fast.

I love the way double exposed film turns out. Its a story within a story that takes on a whole new meaning.

inked

I love the look of simple, elegant tattoos. I love the artwork of Alphonse Mucha, and there seems to be a ton of people out there with his amazing works on their skin. Peacock feathers have always held memories of home to me and I've been using them in my artwork...could it be the next tattoo I get? Who knows.

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was me and my sister's 21st birthday! We started off the day by drinking mimosas, going shopping and getting our nails done. To end it, we went out with friends to a great little restaurant/bar, Saucebox. Their cocktails are all tiki-themed and DELICIOUS, as you can see my friends April and Kim sipping out a pineapple:

A couple bars later, it was the end to a great night. Cant wait to share more pictures and adventures because I finally bought myself a small digital camera! So now I can take it along with me wherever I go and wont have to lug a huge camera.
